have certainly been high on the entertainment/frustration scale, primarily stemming from this previous experience. At first, I was under the impression the whole ordeal was simply identity theft from some rather clever individual obtaining my information. Oh how I was wrong! Turns out, and some of you may also be victims like my older sister and client at work, there were four computers stolen from the WellsFargo Educational Institution containing who knows how many thousands of students' information including: name, address, phone number, SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, and account info. Apparently, no pins or passwords were taken, but the simple fact that these uncreative individuals have our socials and STOLE, not creatively hacked, our information bothers me the most. Having a person's name and social security number can easily spell disaster for the rest of one's life (and changing your number is even more of a headache/mess). Sure, we've been advised to watch our accounts and credit reports carefully, report to the FTC and three main credit bureaus, but perhaps WellsFargo should employ better security to help restrict random people from carrying out four computers with sensitive information.
